STSI Bandung is a public Higher Education Institution established by the government through the president’s decree number 59 / 1995 under the guidance of Directorate General of Higher Education, Educational and Cultural Department. STSI Bandung’s main duty is to carry out academic education and or professional in art after high school.
Identity As a Higher Education Institution, STSI Bandung has its own identity that differs it from the other institutions. The symbol of STSI Bandung is indigo blue with a harmonious combination between the figure of Goddess Saraswati (science and art goddess) and lotus. Goddess Saraswati is pictured standing on the eight crowned lotus in a dynamic position, wearing a 2 and 9 shaped scarf, three series crown, and each hand’s holding a kujang (dagger), a lontar ( palm leave), a rosary, and a pen. The meaning of the symbol a. Indigo blue colour Indigo blue colour is the symbol of Sundanese greatness and power. It inspires every move and step of STSI Bandung towards transcendence, in order to have greatness and power values.

Goddess Saraswati Goddess Saraswati is a science and art goddess which symbolizes the spirit of STSI Bandung in carrying out its vision that is to be a center for performing art studies refers to traditional bridge and creative moments that live and sustain its environment. Goddess Saraswati is pictured in a dynamic position with a 2 and 9 (29) shaped scarf Dynamic movement symbolizes STSI Bandung readiness in responding challenge and global era demand. Scarf symbolizes completeness of every step of STSI Bandung in carrying out its vision, mission, and objective. 29 symbolizes date of STSI Bandung establishment. The three series crown symbolizes the three responsibilities of Higher Education (Tridharma) of STSI Bandung that is Education, Research, and Community Services. The top right hand’s holding 5 pieces of rosary symbolizes Pancasila as a reference base of STSI Bandung in carrying out the Tridharma of Higher Education, and the spirit of STSI Bandung to realize its vision, mission, and objective. The top left hand’s holding a lontar (palm leave) symbolizes commitment of STSI Bandung in delving, organizing, and developing nation art and culture assets for the benefit of human being. The down right hand’s holding a three holes kujang (dagger) Kujang shows that STSI Bandung located in West Java. The three holes symbolize the spirit of idea, feeling, and work of STSI Bandung in organizing local culture to reach global power. The down left hand’s holding a pen symbolizes spirit of STSI Bandung to get the best results of the performed Tridharma of Higher Education. The eight crowned lotus symbolizes the purity of all faculty members of STSI Bandung in carrying out its vision, mission, and objective. Besides symbolizing the establishment month of STSI Bandung (in August), it also symbolizes depapan laku hastabrata, that is characteristic reflection of surya (the sun), candra (the moon), kartika (the stars), mega (cloud), bayu (wind), tirta (water), agni (fire), and bumi (earth), which become the base for all faculty members of STSI Bandung in carrying out its vision, mission, and objective. 3.
